    Default Any USAF questions?

Ok, so don't hate on this thread, I figured I would post it up anyway.

I just went through Air Force Basic Training (BMT/bootcamp) at Lackland AFB in San Antonio. I'm at Keesler Air Force base in Biloxi, MS for my tech school ( Knowledge Operations).

When I went in I know I had a lot of random questions. ie - what do you do during the day at bmt? How hard is the PT? How hot are the guys/girls? What happens when you get sick? Do you have to wear glasses in bmt? Do you get to party it up in tech school or do you have a curfew? etc etc etc.

So whatever question you have I will answer to the best of my abilities. Whether you are curious about joining or just want to know.

Doing MEPs here next week.... Trying to get my ass in Bootcamp by January if I'm lucky because of the 6 month waiting list.

I was wondering what kind of freedom you get while in tech school?

I was lucky - I finished MEPs up in Jan. and was a quick ship in May... otherwise i would've been waiting a lot longer... what job do you want?

Tech school is great. At keesler we have two phases Initial and Advanced. Just a buffer from coming straight out of BMT - which is good so you don't go buck wild.

Advanced, which is what I am in now. You have a 10pm curfew on the weekdays. (I get up at 0345 for PT so it's not a bad thing). On the weekends there is no curfew. I've come in at 630am before.

Every other Friday you have off.

    You can have a car.

You can do pretty much everything after ITP - which is only 2 weeks anyway (that depends on your squadron and your job).

ITP (the initial phase) you have to be in uniform outside of the squadron, you can't leave base, and on the weekends you have a midnight curfew you have to wake up for. It's not bad at all.

The more I hear about the BS other services had to go through during school the more I am glad I went into the Corps. Marines were free to run wild from day 1 of school.

it's really not that bad. So I had to not have every freedom for 2 weeks... I still have a 9-5 computer job. I can't complain
