Depends on your budget and needs.
I would hardly consider Springfield as low end. Is spending more than $1000 on a handgun even worth it when others that are cheaper have the same effect to the person on the wrong end of it? Not bashing the post or anything.
This is a good statement to go on.![]()
Out of the three categories i mentioned, springfield fits the bill as low end production all the way. More technically its probably medium end production, but then that would leave room for RIA to come into the picture... and thats not gonna happen.
Is it? This is a car website, we should be the first to realize there is more to cars than just "getting from point A to point B". Same goes with weapons, electronics, clothes, and essentially every other good on the planet. Is spending more than $1000 on a handgun even worth it when others that are cheaper have the same effect to the person on the wrong end of it?

Not going to add input on this thread. But I would like to add a picture of my new CCO slide i got in. Bolted it up to the milspec frame just to see what she looked like. First thing I did out of the box was remove the series 80 FP safety. LULz..
And dammit if my camera is dead now. I will post pics in a few.
One pic up.
Colt CCO Slide (Factory NM Barrel, Night Sites, and Flat serrated top of slide)
FOR PIC ONLY: Springer MilSPec Frame (Custom hob job to come after I sell 3 more of my 1911s, lame)

You can get those loaded springer champion operators for alot less than that now. Nice little shooters. I dont feel that any 1911 under 5" should have a rail but thats just a personal thing

Kimber Custom II is a very nice fire arm and gets my vote on the pole. Springfield makes a great fire for a budget as well. 1911 are just a timeless classic that will never fadeaway. My hk usp40 is still my fav that I own and shoot.

Para has some nice 1911's also. The warthog would be a great concealed carry.
