Default Gun plans for the year?

I plan on buying a lever action Marlin 336 30-30 with the gripped handle. I had one and sold it because I needed money. I'm going to leave it open sighted and use it for a brush and pushing deer gun.

    I also plan on buying a pistol, I'm thinking a .40 caliber semi-auto.

If I find one cheap enough, I'll pick up a .22 semi-auto rifle too for hunting

    Ya'll?

To bad you couldn't have grabbed that .30-.30 I had. There is a Springfield XD .40 on here for sale now and .22 are pretty cheap. Have fun.

I bought a beretta px4 storm .40, a beretta U22 neos, which I also bought a nice red dot scope for. I plan to buy a beretta cx4 storm also, which I intend to buy a forward grip for and a really nice holosight for, in 9mm of course for really cheap shooting. Probably gonna get it in the next few weeks or so. not bad for 3 months worth of shit. I've got other guns but the beretta's have been easy to maintain, clean, have been very reliable, as well as very easy to handle and shoot.

Going to do another 1911 build in stainless. Will probably buy the Wilson Combat .22lr conversion kit, so I can give my P22's and Mosquito a rest. Would like to get another GSG-5, but I may just do a Ruger 10/22 build instead. Planning on starting a tacticool sniper-type rifle in .308 with bull barrel of some sort, not sure what platform I will start with yet. Really won't have much time though, this next year is going to be pretty busy for me. We'll see where it goes. Might even make a build thread on one of them if I catch time.

i will be starting a CCO sized 1911 build soon. Frame and slide are on the way, and will be starting work hopefully in the next couple months. Going to be a busy year for me too, well I hope at least. Finishing school this semester, plus work, plus finding a new job maybe, plus hobbies. Good times.

SiRed, if you have time to do a build you have plenty of time to post photos do it.
"The 1911 is a collection of subsystems that must work together. Each part must be prepared and fit properly not only in and of itself, but also with regard to the other parts with which it must operate for the gun to function and appear as desired."

LoL, yeah that's the truth... I am graduating this semester too, and attempting to get my business going. Maybe, I will find some time to play. I am hoping that I can get lucky and find a decently priced SS fullsize at the next local gun show, so that I can get started. But that will probably end up being a waste of $10... I will probably end up just ordering a bare frame and slide and going from there.

Gun plans are to open a store front, a range, and do fugitive recovery. I will own 1-2 firearms myself but the store should own 100's.

Bullets, Beans, Filtration Kits, Tacticool gear, and lots of Range time!

i kinda just finished my tactical home defense shotgun. getting ride of my glock to a full size xd-9 for my daily carry and for cheaper rounds. i have been loyal to glock. time to explore the rest of the world. this year i am definately getting me a .38 special made by taurus or a 9mm taurus revolver as a secondary. possibly a ar-15 build if my knowledge of them increases. that might be it for awhile since ar-15s seem to be a never ending project. if i have extra money i will get me a taurus 1911.

My brother and dad also have a good bit of guns too so i usually play with them (HK USP 45acp, DPMS AR10 and AR15, Judge 6rd 410 pistol, HK G3, FNFAL, 4 gun safes so i wont be able to name them all..) I had a blast last time i shot the ruger single six. Might get on of those or a redhawk

Wont be disappointed with the XD. I had a glock 27 40s&w and bought the service model 45acp xd and it shoots as good as my dads HK USP.

Glock and XD triggers are garbage compared to the USP's. - Random Fact

I'm letting my brother keep all my guns for me for a while, i'm starting chantix in about 3 weeks and it supposedly makes some people have suicidal tendencies. Not taking any chances.

Yeah, opinions vary. IMO hammered guns > striker guns. I have shot just about every type of gun out there and haven't found many that are on par with the USP. I am not a big fan of the new model HKs though. They function as smoothly as the old ones and all, but I'm not a big fan of the look and feel.

Maybe I should do a HK build thread and inspire/convert some of the Glock-lovers on this site.

You will love that thing man. They eat whatever you can feed them. I never had a single issue out of mine. For a gun that is barely over $100 you can't beat it.

LOL i am a devoted glock customer. I just got rid of my 23C today, which is my daily carry for the XD-9. I was actually thinking about going for the sig p250 9mm (hammer) today because it was like 469 brand new. I like the P229's too. I bet you wont do a HK build! lol thats a dare bc i wanna see!

I read reviews on the mosquito and they say its a disgrace to the SIGs. But i havent had experience with it myself. I wanted one awhile back.

I have heard bad reviews on them from several sources, as well as opinions of shop owners towards them also. My beretta u22 neos hasn't jammed once, and has been VERY accurate at 25 yards(6in barrel). All 10 rounds are in a 6in circle every time, and I'm still dialing it in. It's cheap and quite effective as well as easy mounting of whatever sight you want due to the big ass rail on the top of it.

The Mosquito has been a good gun overall, but it is definitely not a true SIG. As far as reliability, I haven't had any issues out of mine, but I clean all of my guns religiously. The triggers are very mushy, almost like a Ruger P-series. They are pretty accurate though. But if it is for your wife to target shoot with, I'd recommend the P22 instead. The Mosquito is somewhat heavy for what it is, it's larger overall, and the grip is larger than the P22. My girl loves my short barreled p22, which is why she ended up getting it. She says the p22 grip fits better in her hand. I know a lot of the earlier Mosquitos had bad reviews because of feeding issues, etc, but I think the new models have most of the problems worked out, if you still want to go that route. Oh, and the p22 comes with 2 magazines whereas the Mosquito only comes with 1. I personally like the P22 better, especially after you change the rear backstrap to the larger one it comes with. The trigger break is much nicer IMO. But either way you go, you'll be happy. They both will eat $15 Federal bulk bricks from Wal-Mart just fine. And congrats on the marriage.

As far as ammo shipping goes. I have never actually shipped ammo. I have purchased it online but never shipped it person to person. I have heard that it has to be in the original box and some special label has to be on it? Not too sure though, may want to ask Truegiant.

Well the place isn't local to you, but it's Moss Pawn Shop off Old Dixie/Tara Blvd. in Clayton County. They keep them in stock for some reason. They were like $16 or something like that. Which is about the same as they are online, after shipping, if you can find them anywhere.

My plan for the year is to play with my new GSG 5 for a little while and then probably sell it and maybe even the AR and buy a Coharie Arms CA94. I'm about to sell my Sig P239 and get an XD or something like it. The more I shoot other pistols the less I like the way my Sig fits in my hand and the initial pull is a bit more than I want for a CC weapon.

Yes. There is two ways to ship it.

Take it to the post office already packaged up and just ship it. (not so legal)

Take it to the post office and ask them to package it up and put the appropriate orm-d sticker on it and ship it. (legal)

    Either way works.

100% true. I have looked everywhere for one, but they really don't have any after-market support. No stocks, no extended mags, etc. If you want extended mag options look into getting a Remington 597 or Ruger 10/22. They both have plenty of after-market support (mags, stocks, barrels, etc.).
