Your not serious are you? 7.62x54 and .223 are very popular deer hunting rounds. Neither are considered large hunting rifle calibers. If anything .223 is actually considered an underpowered round.

Subsonic ammo is considerably slower shooting so it would do less damage. Less velocity = less power depending on the grain of the bullet.
