Alright long story short picked this up last Sat. at a gunshow for $105. Cleaned the barrel up and fired 20 rounds through it flawlessly. Some purists would leave it alone, but it was cheap and there is always room for improvement, also its a pretty common model, so decided to start off redoing the stock.Heres my build thread from when I got it forward.
After taking it apart and cleaning it up once. You can see some of the scarring on the stock, cant wait to get rid of it, will probably reblue the metal as well.
Almost full disassembly for stripping.
Update: Alright heres some pics after stripping and sanding with 60, 220, then 400.
Alright heres my baby that I finished, and heres its new sibling. The darker one is the one I refinished.
Heres the one modded with the bipod...I love it a lot more accurate with a steady platform. Shooting prone is pretty painful though.
