    Default Awesome hunt

Guy I hunt with shot 3 times at a buck and hit it onces. We tracked that deer for 3 hours and after 7 total shots(2 hits, I didnt shoot.lol) we finally got it in the truck. It was the most exciting hunt i've ever had. Tension, patience, determination and def helped my tracking skills.

Adam first shot around 8:15. 3 shots of .308 at around 120 yards over looking a powerline. 1 standing still, 2 running. We started searching around 9:30. We were about to give up when we found 2 drops of blood entering woods. We kept searching and found 4-5 more places of blood. the trail went cold and we searched teh woods for another hour and a half or so. Adam happened to push back out into the field and jumped the buck. Adam didnt have his gun so Mr. Mitch and I brought it too him. He had 1 bullet left. He braced on Mr. Mitch's shoulder and took another 100 yard shot and missed. I did my best track star immatation back to the truck to get mr. mitch's and mine .270s. We then walked the field and entered the woods where the buck was last seen. Mr. Mitch in front jumped the buck, chambered a round, and fired and missed. We then decided that adam would go wait at the powerline and Mr. Mitch and I would try to push the deer toward him since we were better at tracking. Adam got to the power line and saw the deer laying in the road in the bottom. We went to Adam and then we army crawled closer. The deer started to get up and adam shot with my gun. He missed, but the deer went right back down. Got closer and finished it off abt 3-4 hours after it all started. It was pretty intense.

Dam sounds like when ya'll finally found the deer he deserved first aid and a purple heart, not a close range shot while he was down and bleeding lol.

I think the final score here is Deer-1 Humans-0

How much meat did ya get?

Back straps were huge, and we got a front shoulder and one back hock. But yeah, he is gonna mount the mangled rack just out b-c of the character of the deer.

cute.. haha.. Moral of the story. PRACTICE before you go hunting in the woods. It keeps the deer from suffering.

It was pretty awesome. Mr. Mitch has been hunting for 30 years and said it was one of the most exciting hunts he has been on

He hit it in the back leg in one of the first 3 shots, and the bullet didnt exit, hence small blood trail. Didnt hit it again until my .270 put id down from 10 feet.lol
