Default What should I do with all of these Collector Cards?

Someone gave me part of their collection in a deal. I used to collect cards in jr. high and was like wtf could I do wiht these? But then i looked there are some pretty damn good cards in there. The collection primarily includes basketball but also base and foot ball cards (did you see what i did back there just now?)

Some cards date back to the 70's. There are well over 2000 cards in this collection.

    Where should I take them?

Do places actually still buy these?

Anyone what to look at them and make an offer?

    or ???

I'll be honest with you. Right now, cards really aren't worth shit. Especially football cards. Cards made prior to the 60s have more value. The 70s are ok, but the 80s and up? Forget about it. The 1980s brought in mass-produced cards. There so many made that any potential value was completely lost. And that's just baseball cards. Football cards are worth significantly less.

Two years ago I found about 300 football cards from the 50s-70s and I barely got $100. Really the best the thing to do is take them to a card shop that specializes in sports cards and they can tell you what you have. Just don't let them get you. Some may tell you that the card isn't worth as much as it is. Talk to them, find out what your money cards are and then come home and see if they really told you what's up.

But all in all, it doesn't sound like you have a lot of money in there. Unless you have a mega-superstar, that is. Later, QD.

search the web for a collector and let them know what you have. You could also look for an online bekkett (sp) its a book thats lets you know the approximate value of collector cards.
