I had a thought. Online dating allows you to learn a person's personality first. When irl it takes a lot more time. Even though its easier, I still don't think I could do it.

but the fact that has been made most social sites or fourms are only what 10% to 30% made up lies? can't really base anything off the internet, or even real life... all there is left to do is be open and putting yourself out there. The best thing I thought of is and that's if you could; but date your best friend who better than anyone to know you best? but that's a whole new subject... and of course them being of the oppisite sex or whatever floats your boat

That comment can be very true and the reason I say can is because it depends on the situation. In order for there to be a first attraction, there has to be something physical that initially draws that person (assuming they meet in person) into the other. Maybe the same for online as well, because I looked at their pics and then looked at their profile to see if I like them. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does that. But then if you meet someone online without seeing what they look like and you like them based on convo then yes it is possible.
