student aid, loans, etc

I didnt get to start school this fall. No money, and no car. ANy type of grants, loans, aid, i can apply for so i can start next year? Enough money for tuition, boooks, and some extra to fix my transportation.

btw i filled out an 08-09 fafsa which was the wrong fafsa for this year. so do i need to wait until the 10-11 fafsa is available since i will be starting spring semester?

also i will be a full time student so I wont be able to work shit for a job. maybe Saturday and sunday to the most. any monetary assistance for broke ass adults trying to go to school? i applied for food stamps already so I'll be able to eat. But gas money, small bills, etc?

The fasfa is already out, it comes out before the summer. Fill it out (09-10) one and you should be good.

If you had a 3.0 or higher in HS, then you should get Hope Scholorship.
If your going to a tech school, then you can get the Hope Grant.

You need to fill out the 09/10 FAFSA form. The FAFSA form changes after the end of each summer semester. This coming fall semester will begin the 09/10 FAFSA year.

Also, if you are eligible, log onto www.gacollege411.org and fill out all the scholarship applications that you can including Hope. (Neither of the Hope funding programs must be repaid.)

The Hope scholarship is intended for 4 year colleges and will cover all of tuition cost for public institutions, mandatory fees, and a book allowance. They will continue to cover you throughout college as long as you maintain the required GPA (3.0) and student status.

The Hope Grant is intended for 2 year college/tech schools. It works a little differently in that you are not required to have a 3.0 GPA leaving highschool. It has similar reward opportunities though!

The Pell Grant is a GREAT option too! It is a need based federal grant, so you do not have to repay any of it. You must fill out FAFSA to be eligible and they will provide you with funding depending on your income, dependency status, etc.

In addition to Pell, Georgia offers the LEAP Grant which is need based. To qualify, you must be eligible for Pell and be in compliance with several other requirements.

As far as covering living expenses, Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC) offers great student loan options with low interest rates that can be paid directly to students to use as they please. That may be an option for you. Most banks also offer an "Education Plus Loan" which is a great way to cover anything and everything beyond tuition and school costs. That may be another great option to look into.

Edit: I forgot to add, that a lot of the student loan options offer a deferred payment plan; therefore, you do not have to begin repaying the loan until up to 6 months after graduation.

Um... just because you go to school full-time doesn't mean you can't find a full-time job... I work full-time and school full-time as well... take it seriously and you'll see that it's actually pretty easy to do both.

Also, call the school and talk with a financial aid advisor. Many times they know of "last minute" scholarships/grants/loans.
