the way to know if prophecy is true is to truly desire God to make himself known to you. seek and you will find. then you can determine if the bible is true or not.

John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

pretty much Jesus is saying that the old testament is prophesying and painting pictures of him. one great example is abraham and isaac , his son, was to be a sacrifice. isaac in this story is a picture of jesus carrying the cross on his shoulder to be a sacrifice. isaac carried the wood for the sacrifice. see the parallel? only abraham was commanded to stop before it happened. but the Father poured out his wrath on Jesus, his son, on the cross for the price of sin which is death.
