    Default 1911 / Build

My next build is in the planning process. What should i do? Figured this would be a good thread for general 1911 chat and build ideas

I think i want to do a bobtail commander, all black, with chainlink front strap and mainspring housing.

Here is kinda what i am thinking. except for the color, and the details lol

"The 1911 is a collection of subsystems that must work together. Each part must be prepared and fit properly not only in and of itself, but also with regard to the other parts with which it must operate for the gun to function and appear as desired."

As soon as my .357 project is finished i am going to build a bobtail. I cannot finish any of them until i finish these next 4 1911's i am working on now and i have to sell my beater truck. I am headed to daytona this weekend to visit family and do some shooting. I am almost done with my polish/dehorn/blending on my CCW. Once that is finished I think I am going to get it duracoated something strange. The CCW will be pushed aside for the new 357. And then the bobtail project starts. What size frame are you going to use? I have seen all kinds of mismatched frames and slides work for custom bobtails. I love the chain link but everyone i have called is ridiculously expensive. CRAZY EXPENSIVE. Anywho..Keep us posted.

i am going through fusion for the frame, slide and barrel. I am cheating a little and getting thier "kit", where barrel and frame/slide is fitted.

Hollar if u still need stuff bead blasted.

What r your 4 1911 projects, and are u selling them? I am considering selling the bobd commander when i am done.

Sorry about the lack of clarity. I was just wondering what the specs are on your four 1911 projects. And in regards to the 280$ for the .45, I have no clue what your talking about, i dont remember wanting to buy one from you lol.

Also, i was wonder if you were planning on selling any of the custom built 1911s. I will consider selling the bob'd commander when im done, just to see if i can sell it for a decent price.

Looks like this is getting put on hold. Work side of life is having issues.

allthough its very hard to say, due mostly to quality of work issues (on my part) i would say i saved at least 600-1000 dollars. ZTime will tell, ie it will proove if i did a good job.
