But I think it's utterly stupid to believe that this divine spirit, who christians call "god", told a human to write down his words and teachings and anecdotes etc in a book to be the foundation of prophecy and how to live ones life. And then depending upon how we "Act" in life we are either banished to hell or sent to heaven. Come on, think about that. Really think about that. It's the biggest crock of shit/fairy tale ever.

I have taken a few philosophy classes in college, which by NO MEANS make me a pro, but I feel has given me some different perspectives about things from different profs/students that most ppl haven't experienced. Out of all religion, I would say buddhism makes the most sense and is the most logical.

I do not hate religion, and I do not have a personal vendetta against religious ppls. But maybe you along with other religious ppls should take a look outside the box and see what you find. But wait, for those who have faith, most will not try to think otherwise because they have been conditioned and prepositioned to believe that their faith and perspective the right one. Talk about igjnorance and small mindedness.
Buddhism is exactly what you just spoke against if that is your viewpoint of Biblical God. (Buddhism is based on your actions) Your preconception of how Christians or religious people are shows your ignorance and small mindedness. Enlighten me, what exactly is "outside the box?" As far as I know, you live in the same world that I do. As you said, you have a family, go to school, maybe work, have a life... what is it that you have that many other religious people don't? People will believe what they believe and live by what creed that they want to live by. How some see the glass half empty, some see as half full, but the fact remains... its half of something.

Just because some people believe in something does not make them so abnormally different. For most believers, the bible is just as real to them as a math book or advance physics is to you. It's foreign at first, but once you learn it and understand it, the application of it in real life actually makes sense (math, physics, and for some, the bible)
