    Default New Hunting Truck

I am going to need help from everyone to get this one accomplished. I know it doesnt look like much. The before and after photos was from about an hour behind the pressure washer.

    1977 Ford F150
Dana 44 Front (Built hubs, axles, spool)
Ford 9" Rear (Built axles, auburn locker, bearings)
351M Engine - Cam, Heads, Pistons, Rods, Carb
Tranny (Unknown at this time but I have a reciept for $1300 when it was gone through
Transfer Case - Unknown at this time
    6" Suspension Lift
    3-4" Body Lift
    Crate Steel Bed

    ITEMS TO BE ADDRESSED:
Anything that has fluid in it will be drained and refilled
Engine tune up and adjust carb
New tires (Already have a set of 44x18x15 i am meeting guy in two weeks)
New brakes all the way around (rear disc conversion if finances agree)
Re-wire under dash. I have a buddy who is a wiring genius and he is going to tackle all that after cleaning
Paint the cab, doors, inside, under hood.

I am going to do nothing but clean for the next 4-5 days while I am getting my parts lists together. Once all the parts lists get together and i get all the fluids gone through and filters changed I am going to figure out where to start. I want to get it atleast driving in a straight line at first to find out what is going to be the best avenue of aproach. Part it out or build it.

TRUCK - $500 (I made him deliver it)
    Cleaning material - $40

Awesome. Julie's mom has her dads old '78 F150 sitting out front rotting away. Its 4wd and has a 460 in it.

I'll ask. Its been sitting a long time and most of the body is rusted, but could have some useful parts.

Its funny you said that. The motor is straight long tubes with that built motor its loud. When we were unloading it off the truck all my neighbors came out and started looking. One called the cops because he said i was contaminating my street with dirt, haha.

Well.. I got all the wheels off today. I started at 0730 and didnt stop cleaning and tinkering until 1550 when laurel got back home. I have several different ideas that are going to take alot of planning so this project might take a little longer than originally expected but I think that we will get a way better return investment in the long haul. Pulled the rear drums off. No hardlines, soft lines, or pads. Pulled the front calipers off. They were both frozen up. Re-cover bench seat. Re-wire more stuff than originally suspected. Its not that the stuff doesnt work now, its just not as clean as i would like it for re-sale. I got the carb adjusted enough to get it to fire over right away. Its way to loud as it sits. I am working on a deal locally for a set of used flowmaster mufflers to have welded on. Tomorrow morning i am going to drain the oil and freshen it up. Pull the front spindles off and inspect the damage from the axles that were broken. I might start working on the wiring project but am going to need to re-coup some fundage for materials. Anywho.. All is well on the home front so far.

    No problem man..

I cut out alot of non-essential ghetto wiring that the prev kid had done. I also removed the master cyl, calipers, power steering pump, and rewired up some of the switches. I am going to have to buy a haynes manual because he re-wired the headlights and taillights on a toggle switch and I cannot figure out where the orig/color of the orig wires are. Anywho. Its a long process.

I took off all the window tint on the glare strip and windows. I took off like 10 magnets and 15 stickers also. I cut out about 80' of jacked up wiring. The guy who rebuilt the truck bought a painless wiring kit. But instead of pulling out all the old stuff he left it in. When the kid that I bought the truck from got it he destroyed all the new wiring. Anywho.. I am trying to decipher whats good and isnt. It has come down to me cutting out everything that is non-essential blower motors ,etc.. and i will re-wire it as i get time. anywho.. its coming along. I am going to pick up my 44"s friday. Anyone know if you can reweld wheel holes and have them redrilled? One of the wheels is jacked up and I dont want to have to spend the $130 for another one. anywho..

Thanks for all the kind words guys and gals. Some of my neighbors love it and some hate it. I replaced the coil, distributor cap, ign module, changed the oil twice, installed the master cylinder, front calipers, pads, plugs, etc today. It was a pain staking process but its coming along. I have to finish up installing the power steering pump tomorrow and get the front brakes bled. I have the rear blocked off at the rear axles because my disc stuff wont come in for a while probably.

It is in savannah. And I basically did get it out of a swamp, haha.

After the tune up today and adjusting the timing the truck is hitting a mean lick with that huge cam. I am picking up the tires on friday. Tomorrow I am taking the old wheels to get broken down and cleaned and repainted. I will get the new tires on saturday hopefully. Other than that its been a nightmare working on some of this stuff but well worth it in the long run.

Looks nice I would like to have a mud truck like that. I used to live in S.C. / HHI. I hated the low country mud/sand mix.

Here are some updated pics of the interior. I bought a case of dupli color rubberized undercoating off the internet for $2.22 a can x 12 cans. In the auto parts store the same stuff is like $6.49 per can. I used 7 cans today. I am taking it on monday for the rear disc swap and some misc welding i need done. The machine shop I am taking the truck to is supposed to be giving me a price finally on the flash hiders, lower trigger guards, and 1911 parts. Anywho.. The od green photoshop is the direction i think i am going to go but not official yet.
