I plan on snowboarding both. I will probably hit the TN or NC for quick weekend trips. Like I said, I also plan on heading out west with some friends also. Lots of good info here guys, Thanks.
I've been looking on the websites you guys showed me and there are alot of awesome deals out there on everything, esp on the sierra site. I'm just trying to get a good idea of size wise, which board would be best for me. I PM'd Tuan and he said he's riding a 156cm board and he's about 4 inches taller than me. I'm guessing a 151cm board would be ok for me since i'm about 5'6, 165lbs.

yeah I just got back from a trip out to mammoth mtn. in cali. all of the '08 models should be marked down a lot this time of year. check out sun and ski sports at discovery mills. they have a good selection of last years stuff that you can get a killer deal on. I bought a pair of '08 K2 boots a few months ago from there and they were only $125 marked down from $275.
i disagree, Mt. Tremblant, Canada is definitely one of my top choices to ride. Snowshoe WV isn't bad either, i have a timeshare there in the village - doesn't seem like a waste of money to me!Originally Posted by Zodiac117
I also take the time to fly out to The Canyons and Park City in Utah once a season - while excellent spots on the west coast are a dime a dozen... there are a few places on the East Coast that are killer as well.
...you just have to drive/fly a ways, can't be a wimp - drive four hours, and expect great snow. That just doesn't happen... WV is the lowest i go on the East Coast to board... I plan on exploring Vermont next year.

Other than vermont, the east coast for snowboarding sucks. The only decent Snowpark in WV is winterplace....Originally Posted by se7en
I highly suggest going to Vermont. Stay after from the slush in north carolina.
east coast boarding does NOT suck, it's just a little different. No, you don't have insane amounts of snow that you can get lost in... But if you're okay with not having miles and miles of halfpipes and flattops, then you're good to go.Originally Posted by Zodiac117
Everyone hates on the east coast for some reason... i've noticed it's usually it's folks who've gone out to Rockies once or twice and are caught up in the buzz. lol
winterplace? lol![]()
Mr.EM1, why didn't you and Dustin ride out with me this winter to WV/or out west? I had room in the plane bro.

But other than vermont, east coast sucks for anyone who is above an intermediate skill level.
The east coast is great for beginners though.
