Thats fine. Then buy off brand stuff. Your being a hypocrite. If brand isnt important then why buy knock offs, just roll over to payless and grab your assortment of affordable footwear and be on your merry way. When i need an affordable shoe, the first thing that pops into my head is NOT knock off nike shoes, thats for sure.

Oh and please do not be foolish enough to think there is no difference in a 15$ shoe and a 250$ shoe as you suggested with you "shoes are shoes" comment.

Your borderline reverse elitism is scarier then elitism itself. Everyone has different budgets, and different priorities. This is why there is perfectly acceptable "off-brand" goods and a variety of mid to high end brands to keep everyone happy. Just because a persons priorities and budget lead them to support a more expensive brand does not automatically make them sucker. I just believe that if a company is successful enough to establish a high end brand, more power too them; i choose not to buy fakes based on the principle that those companies worked hard and spent a lot of money to establish that brand and I am not going to help tarnish it by buying cheap fakes.
