Some say Baphomet is the true depiction of Satan and I've heard that it came up during the supression Knights Templar - which also connects it to the freemasons, but I'm not really sure. Its even supposed to be a misrepresentation of Muhammed lol. The pentagram was a considered a "perfect" symbol with metaphysical properties and an object with spiritual connection for the Pagans. Somehow with the advent of christianity it got a bad reputation.
Going back to the sigil of Baphomet - I dont think anyone really knows the "truth". History is fun stuff!
