The money is amazing - it's never the same gig everyday - and one you get some time under your belt u can set your own price and "rules" if you prefer the contractor route vs employee route (I do). For example - I won't take a contract where I am forced to work on-site. This allows me to work multiple contracts from home (SERIOUSLY doubt E*Trade would let me bring AT*T hardware in the data-center to work while I am on the clock - LOL). Start small - help desk/maybe desktop support and learn EVERYONE'S job around you. You can't lose.
I appreciate the advice.. ill be honest im a very advanced level user, I understand you gotta start small and work your way up but im trying to find an opportunity to jump in somewhere intermediate level. Its hard trying to plan a career transition when you're already established at what you're doing and have financial obligations. Fortunately right now im doing a majority of the IT work for my company in addition to my primary job so I can use this as job experience on my resume.
