Obama's foreign policy plan is nothing more than appeasing anyone that has a problem with a US policy. He simply does not have a clue as to how to use diplomacy to protect this country. Any idiot known that diplomacy only works when you also have something to back up the threats.

I agree 100% that healthcare needs work, but I dont agree with Obama's plan for it.

Education needs to become more open to competition. The current system of public education is a mockery to the greatness of this country.

For the record, democrats should be laughing all the way to the bank this year because no matter what we will end up with a democratic president. Its just a matter of how far left they are going to vote.

i'm not really going to argue your point but what most people dont realize about the world today is simply put.....'everyone want to be #1 but if they're not, then they all hate whoever is #1'

the world didnt use to be this way...but now the world is like a big corporation and it's a 'dog eat dog' mentality

No, its not. I agree 100% in diplomacy, but when diplomacy is ignored for a decade or so then I think its about time to back up the words you have been speaking. Clinton tried to do that with random bombings and it was ignored. It was about time someone stepped up and ended it.

Dont bring the UN into this either. The entire UN is a joke. There is even more corruption there than in the standard African presidential election.

same with NATO, NATO is just an excuse for America to do whatever it wants in member countries. It a country joins NATO, it automatically becomes America's b*tch.

We have a very capable military ready to go, how is that not back up? Better yet Economic sanctions that are crippling even to the Hussein ruled Iraq.. theres surely more than one way to skin a cat. Diplomacy works and it saves lives, that is hardly appeasement.

And what kind of competition should there be in education? Competing to get the teacher to know your name because there are 30 other students in your class room? Because that is the problem that we have now, rather than competing these kids need teachers that can devote the time attention needed to help them succeed. Education is not a free market economy.

Our military is capable, but we still need to use it once in a while to remind people. When a dictator can blatantly ignore diplomacy for a decade then something needs to be done.

Sanctions were crippling to the average Iraqi citizen, but not to Saddam. In a country that the leadership needs to be at last like they care about the welfare of it citizens this would be enough, but Saddam didnt care about the civilians so it was useless.

Competition among private schools. If a parent wants to send their child to a private school then the school should receive a voucher covering the tuition to that school up to what it would cost the govt for the same child for the saem year. At worst this would cause the govt to break even, at best the govt would save money.

America spends more money per student than several of the countries that outrank us in education so money isnt the issue. The issue is the poor quality of education they are receiving.

I concur. It's not that we're not spending enough money it's just that the quality of it sucks. It's not about learning or teaching anymore it's simply remember **** for a test and then forget it two days later.

Because obviously, he's going to disband the entire military and we'll rely entirely on the goodwill of others in diplomatic proceedings. zzzz.
After 8 years of "With us or against us" foreign policy, does basic diplomacy really sound like "appeasement" and do you even know what the historical context of that situation was?

Everybody's conservative idol, Ronald Reagan, negotiated with our enemies. Including the Soviet Union.
And who are our enemies in the world these days anyways? An oil exporting nation with a tiny military, composed mostly of conscripts and equipped with shoddy Russian imports and the best U.S. defense technology of the late 60s and early 70s butchered into "indigenous" designs - who are only in the spotlight because of the pithy rhetoric of a man who has no control over foreign policy and is wildly unpopular in his own nation?

We actually bombed Iraqi military installations pretty regularly. What are we supposed to do, drop a few tactical nuclear weapons in a city or two?

Even the original U.S. imperialist, T. Roosevelt, said "Walk softly, carry a big stick". Not "Carry a big stick, beat the **** out of whatever moves".

Its widely agreed that this system doesn't work.

And I guarentee you, none of those nations use the system you outlined.
