i think if i had 500 bucks to spend i would have to pick one up, then find an old hilux body to put on it.

If I had $500 to spend I'd pick up an old 4x4 toyota and start a project I could actually drive.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

That thing is pretty beefy, much cooler than a E-maxx. But by the time you got the cool **** for it you have like $1000 in it w/out electronics.

if you dont need a big money pit then stay away from r/c cars/trucks..i had close to $1300 in my traxxas revo...every time you take it out to run it be prepared to spend at least $50 to fix it!

well if you stick to the slower rigs/crawlers like this one you dont break as much.

and if i get one, im gonna go with the regular leaf springs and shocks. thats the whole reason i like it.

That is a pretty cool little machine, but I'm more partial to the race cars. Problem is they sit too damn low to drive on most asphalt, my friend dropped 900 on one with a Skyline body. Thing topped out at 65(factory specs). He must of had it close to that because one day we were playin with it and he hit a tiny little rock that snapped the front bumper pretty much in half. Sucked ass considering the body alone was 100 plus we painted it, and if one thing breaks you have to get a whole new one.

Looks to be modeled off the old Tamiya Hilux chassis.
    I love crawling with them.

Here's one of my 1/6th scales I built to craw

R/C cars are just as big a money pit as the full size versions that you can actually ride in. I raced them for years (before I got my license, lol). One of my race buggies (XX-CR) had very close to 2 grand in it between the car itself and all the support parts and electronics...That was just one of the cars...

Buy more Miata parts, Jesse. You'll thank yourself for steering clear of RC.

That's definately true. My crawlers do not take as much maintenance as my Track cars did because they are built much stronger to crawl and take a beating but every now and then I will strip a high torque servo or some others I know have stripped differentials, but the most I have had to replace was a servo. My trucks are pretty solid. But the initial investment was about $800 or more each. A lot of the parts are custom made and made from aluminum or steel.

damn, thats a lot of money for a toy.. i have a few friends who run the buggies, they have about 2k in each one of them, they run like hell don't get me wrong, but damn, 2 grand...and yea, they tear up, all the time...200 for this, 100 for that.. one of them even had the balls to get a 2500 plane, it lasted about 2 weeks, then had 500 in repairs and upgrades?

The $$ is one reason why I make a lot of my parts for my Trucks, 1 for durability and two for the cost of buying what I need. I like building my parts anyways cuase I can make them better and give it a custom look
