Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens Mini Vacation

I wanted to take my boys on a last minute mini vacation before they start back to school in two weeks so I decided to take them to the Jacksonville Zoo & Gardens in Jacksonville, Florida (a 3 hour ride from my house), they are getting older and doing things at this age w/them will last a lifetime of memories, I took off of work yesterday and today, they were ready and excited about going (they got up w/me at 6:00 am to watch me workout, and ask me all day, daddy when are we leaving?) I kept telling them soon. We got all packed up and left at 3:00, we drove 2 and a half hours to Kingsland, Ga and got a hotel room at the Econo Lodge nice cheap rooms ($49.95, and a very, very clean pool), the boys loved the pool, we got up this morning at 7 and headed to the zoo we made it right as the Zoo opened at 9, adults $12, kids 13 and under $7.50, we walked the entire zoo area, the boys fed the giraffes and the birds, we saw all the animals, they have a playground area and a mini water park, the train was down for repairs, the weather was not too hot, but hot enough, and they was not many in attendance which made seeing everything much easier to get around, we really had a good time my boys loved it and are still talking about it right now, it is a very pretty place they have it decorated real nice with many, beautiful flowers and plants, very well kept, we took many pictures and I put up 2 YouTube videos of my boys feeding the Giraffes and birds.

Sounds like a fun family get away. I grew up in jacksonville and my mom used to take me and my brother to that zoo all the time.
