I'm not sure if you are getting into it or back into it or are fully into it and don't know the area. But my favorite place is Tribble Mill Park in Grayson. It's on 800acres with two lakes. You can make it as easy or hard as you like. It features some good smooth two person trails and some tight rough twisty trails. And there is one trail that I call the "Deal's Gap of the Mountain Bike world". It's mostly downhill and very curvy but smooth and fun. I have yet to find a trail more fun than that one.
I had a Hard Frame (No shocks anywhere) GT Timberline that I had since 1996. It has suffered a lot including my teenage BMX years. It finally has started to completely go this year and I haven't ridden it as much. But I have a Scott Aspect 45 on Layaway which I should have fairly soon.
I normally ride alone because I enjoy pacing myself. But ride with people sometimes especially if they want to learn some new trails.
I haven't been to Yellow River in a year but it was rough last time I went. Yargo is pretty cool but once you start there is no stopping. You have to loop the lake. Which it goes one way but you can turn around and no one will care.
