Pain and Wonder in Athens... they did my sleeve, and they are AMAZING. Ask for John Collins if you're looking for an old school look... he did mine, and it's amazing... yeah.

Fuck stance. Stance is for kids in skinny jeans with Justin Beiber haircuts. You don't need stance when you got swagger.

While I have no tattoos of my own, one of my friends with multiple tattoos swears by Pain and Wonder. Also, if you get there early, there is a great place to get burgers next door named Clocked (I think).

They do great work and they have been in business for years. Ask for Tommy he's a great artist I've yet to see him do something that doesn't impress me. Prices are good if your concerned...but you shouldn't be..

Yup. Pain and Wonder is the best shop out there. I've gotten tattoos a few other places, and always ended up going to P&W to get them fixed when other artists didn't get them exactly the way I wanted. P&W is the only shop that's been able to do exactly what I want, exactly how I want it.

Radar, one of the guys over there, just got back from tattooing with Kat Von D in LA. She called him to invite him out, if that tells you anything about the skill level and reputation of the shop.

I second this shop. Tommy has been in the biz since the early 80s. Same shop and all. He did most of my 8 tattoos. Later, QD.

jeremiah morris is a pretty good artist. he works at magick dragon in gwinnett. its at the corner of sugarloaf and old norcross. he has a myspace and so does the shop, so if you're on there you can look them up. the shop has a website too, but i couldn't get it to come up a few minutes ago (magickdragontattoo.com).

Radar did one of mine several years ago. He does amazing work. I was wondering if he still worked there so i could go get some more ink done. Pain and Wonder is the only place I'll go.

Yeah he does. John Collins just started at P&W, and he's been doing my sleeve. Before he was at P&W, he was at American Classic over off Baxter, and actually came recommended from Radar and Ms. Billie at P&W when I told them what I was looking for (a really old school/man's ruin feel). They said he was the best around... did my sleeve outlining with him at American Classic, called them a few months later to make an appt. for part 1 of color and he had moved to P&W lol.

OP - What are you looking to get done?

Tommy is one of best and has been Tattooing for over 15yrs. Black Cat Tattoo has been in business for years. Tattoo shops and artists come and go but Black Cat is one of the original reputable shops in Atlanta. I'm the 3rd person to rep them on this site(lilmanx01, QD, and now me). They have the best customer service and communication skills around. Most places treat the customer's horribly unless you've spent major $$ there or know them personally.

I have been tattood pretty much all over the state.

I have to say there are some great shops in the atl and athens area.

Timeless tattoo is great cap is an award winning artist for many many years.
13 roses soul is BAD ass so is lil d
    psycho is great too
all or nothing is a great shop good people
Black cat great shop been hanging out there for years
    pain and wonder is great
    american classic is really good

but alot of these shops have high shop minimums.

I have a shop in gainesville that has been filling in my left arm did some color work on my leg.

that shop is called new vision, Robbie is the artist to get work done by there

I know I have left off a lot of shops that do great work

if you are wanting to get a big tattoo look through the books of the work from that artist, ask questions if there is anything about the shop you dont like go to another shop. Also figure out what kind of style you want then start asking who is good at that style.

if you need ideas or shop reviews go to www.bmezine.com that may help you get an idea if you need one.

I'll throw down for New Vision, as well. I will admit that I am a little bit biased, though. My brother is one of the other artists at New Vision. I've met Robbie and Dave and, imo, all three are really good. My brother, Eric, has done both of mine.
