Take it to the police station. They can tell you.
Do it the legal way and buy it from a pawn shop. That way you don't have to worry if there's any bodies on it or not.

no you wont get in trouble if you bring it to the PD and ask if its legit. If its not, they are going to take it and they will expect you to tell them who you got it from.

just call them and ask. if you scared about them finding out, just call from a payphone or block your number.
Just write the info down on a piece of paper and bring that in.

murder some one and leave the gun at the scene...later on watch the news and they will tell you if the gun was stolen. they will keep the gun but you wont need it for home protection where you are going.
Depending on the year of the gun it may or may not be registered anymore. Most are untraceable anyway with all the illegal guns in our country. Half my guns aren't registered because the GOV doesn't keep track of them anyhow.
The new ones are but if its old, don't worry about it.

I would just go to a local gun store like bullseye or the other one down in atlanta. I think they get all the history on the gun before they purchase it from the previous owner. They have pretty good deals on used guns if you don't feel like purchasing one brand new.
