If I recall correctly, Colin Powell had considered running for president. When he did, the black community was right behind him until he said he was going to do away with welfare. At which point, they stopped supporting him and he just quit.

I would have voted for Colin Powell in a heartbeat.

I 'heard' from a lady at work that obama refuses to swear on the bible - and don't you have to do that to become president?

    Race relations, nothing.......

Obama is a good person, who will surround himself with positvie individuals that will make a good stride for the AMERICAN PEOPLE, all of them.

I honestly feel that certain black people will shun him if he does not help "his people" the way they feel he should. That's why it is very important to vote for the person, if any, that make the best strides for everyone.

I was thinkig the same thing, Colin kicks ass. Although I would not have done away with welfare, but rather augmented the poilcies and provisions of it.

Some people make simple bad decisions that put them in a financial bind, but try hard to do better and get back on their feet. Others ride the freaking welfare wave and are lazy as hell!

It should be sort of like the HOPE scholarship, fall below a certain set of standards/goals/guidelines and take it away!

And we all know that progressive social policy leads to a lower standard of living and the disintegration of society. Just look at what happened to Norway.

No his father was. As far as Not being behind a candidate because of not supporting welfare, Anyone that wants to live soley off of the Govt. should be cut off. They need to implement a Trade learning incentive for everyone on welfare with a cut off clause tied to completion of said program or a certain time period. Bluntly put, you have X amount of time to learn something to elevate you and your family or you are cut off A.S.A.P. The thing that kills me is that people still think that Its mainly Black people on welfare. We don't even make up that big a percentage of people in this county period.

Which president hasn't been old and grungy? Well, since Hoover...

    FDR
    Truman
    Kennedy
    Johnson
    NIXON BELIEVE IT OR NOT
    Carter
    Reagan
    Clinton

Basically, most of them. McCain is also kind of an r-tard and a bold faced liar.

He went into a Baghdad market last year, and after returning from the city and witnessing no violence declared it safe on national T.V.

McCain visited the market whilst wearing a helmet and bulletproof vest. He was accompanied by 100 troops, 4 Humvees, 2 Apache Gunships and 4 Blackhawk helicopters.

I'm sorry, but even an insurgent on crack wouldn't make a move with that kind of firepower rolling around. McCain is a liar and more over retarded for thinking anyone would believe him.
