Update. I'm going to a fancy-ass dessert restaurant called "Finale" up in Harvard square with a girl from Wellesley. I want to get her a single white rose, but our reservation is at 9 pm and the nearest flower shop (in Harvard, about two miles away) closes at 7. Is it worth the bus fare both ways and the effort to get the flower early? I think it would be a nice touch.

That nice little touch might get you some extra personal "TOUCHES" later that evening. Or it may not-and if it doesn't you'll be EXTRA pissed. So you're basically in a tough situation there buddy!! Good luck.

Why not get the rose delivered to you? Call the local flower shops or check out www.proflowers.com and order something and have it delivered to you by 5pm. It'll be a little more $$ but worth it b/c it saves you a lot of headache. Most places are still able to deliver tomorrow.

I get out of class at 1 and my date's at 9, so I've decided that I'll have plenty of time to roam up there and back. Less complicated than worrying about delivery of one flower, ya know?

I'm psyched for this, man. My first bona fide date. I was with my ex for three years but we went out for the first time after we'd been together.

Forecast is 23 degrees at the time of the date... damn.
