He said you can either get a degree or a diploma- if you get the diploma it doesnt take as long and you dont have to take any academic courses only motorsport classes. If you get the degree you have to take the academic stuff unless you've already taken those courses somewhere else (Brian had already taken classes at Gainesville). Brian said HOPE paid for his classes and it's a 2 year program. 2 full time internships are required that you can find yourself or they'll find it for you (He did one w/the Richard Petty Driving experience). I think he said the internships are about 12 weeks long- like when he did the Richard Petty thing they got to live in a house w/other students in the same program. Brian says if you have a mechanical background though that you'll breeze right through it

the program he took was Motorsport Vehicle technology. His favorite teacher is not teaching there anymore though

By the way Derek, I think this would be great for you

That's how Brian got his job at Comprent Motorsports-first he interned and then they hired him- and he really loved it- except now he's going back to school full time at GA State to get his bachelors in business b/c he wants to one day manage a team. But he got to travel all over the place, meet new people and have great experiences as well as networking with other teams. He met most of his bestfriends through work and internships

-I'm making him sound gay by saying that but you know what I mean. I think this would really make you happy

ANyways the website is
www.laniertech.edu and he said it has a lot more information on it

Good luck and keep me updated!

Bye!
