    Default how to restore hardrive back to factory ?

    Can somebody tell me where i can get a program or something to wipe my harddrive and restore it back to factory!!!!

    format c:/s from a boot disk

    but to factory you need the factory installation CD's for whatever type of computer it is.

    Can i get another by downloading it from any where or can have to find one from another computer or the one it came with! Will format c:/s from a boot disk wipe the harddrive?

    if you have the factory boot disk just run it and reload the operating system

    to completely erase the hard drive, you will need to format c:\ then run killdisk on it. Formatting just renames and changes locations of files so they are "unreadable". Killdisk will turn all the 1s to 0s and get you back to a clean slate.

    Make sure you use kill-disk or anyone can recover the old data.
