Well... long story short, my chihuahua broke all of his toes on his front left-hand paw 3 months ago. They still have not healed, and according to the vet, they more than likely never will. So... our other options are: (A) Amputation or (B) Orthopedic surgery to have them pinned and plated. Seeing that option (B) runs well over $1000.00, we are opting to have a 3-legged chihuahua.
How do small dogs cope with only having 3 legs. I've seen larger dogs do fine, but I have never seen a dog his size with only 3 legs. Any advice and/or suggestions?

So the idea giving away your pet is an option just cus its not the same anymore
. Unless you have an extreme lifestyle change, giving the dog up shouldn't be considered. That is one of the main problems with pet owners today. My pet bites the **** out of sometimes and won't go back in its cage. Maybe i should just give it away to some random stranger that he will never get used to.
