Default anyone know anything about blood pressure readings?

I had my blood pressure checked this morning for shits and giggles and i thought it would be high (surprisingly i was told it was VERY good) but IDK if that is true or not due to the source. It was 1?8 over 88 but i cant remember if it was 118 or 128 on top...

    Is that good?

    120/80 is "normal"

Mine is usually a little low. It has been as low as 40 for the bottom number.

I am in the medical field and I can tell you that 128/88 is ok. your diastolic (lower number) is a little high compared to your systolic (top number). Avg diastolic pressure is about 75 or so. Avg systolic is about 120. Diastolic of 90 or higher or a systolic of 139 or higher is a sign of hypertension (high BP). Those numbers will probably change soon, where 85 or higher diastolic or 135 or higher systolic will be considered hypertension. That is already the standard at the hospital where I work. Just do a little cardio workout and cut back on sodium and your diastolic will drop a little.

a diastolic number of 40 is a sign of hypotension. It could cause you to pass out, especially if you have ever had any symptoms of orthostatic hypotension, which means your bp drops more when you stand or sit up. Are you anemic? you might have hypovolemia (blood volume deficit). Has your MD ever said anything about it?
