Try to make it work...depends on if there is a mutual belief in God...talk about how the kids would be raised...figure out shit up front...and try to make it work.

Kids can believe in what they want, but they're not gonna waste their time in church.

most of the young people now days don't attend church and don't really believe in any kind of religion they say that they are something because of there parents, and alot of people who claim that they are religious know very little about their religion...

yeah that is very true i think i dont attend as much as i used to when i was yonger because i was forced to as a kid. I connected getting up early and sitting quiet for a long time with church and that made me not want to go. Now that i have moved out on my own since 01 i think i have maybe gone 10 times. Its sad cause i have a strong belief but i just dont see the point in going to church its just not fun for me so i read and pray on my own time.

I wouldn't get involved with anyone who had the polar opposite of core beliefs I had, whether it be religion, politics, values ect. But if you religious and she just isn't (not like christian/ with a muslim) or if your hardcore on one side of the political spetrum and she's in the middle It wouldn't be a problem for me. just my .002

I think that if you love someone you have to accept them for who they are...if they are a different religioon than you and you can't accept that, then you don't really love them. If it is worth it, you will find a way to make things mesh.

A bunch of words on a page not backed up by any evidence or fact does not prove anything, I don't care what religion you are. Science has proved the world is billions of years old, the bible has proved nothing, period. I don't want to get into any kind of religious debate, but to say something like that can't go without a response.

you do realize that baptist is a denomination of Christianity?

lutherans are people who agreed with Martin Luther's reason from leaving the church during the protestant reformation.

pretty much all the different denominations share most core values and just emphasize certain things (ie. process of baptism, who takes eucharist/communion, and other things of this nature).

i agree to an extent. but heed your own advice. nobody, scientists included, have 'proven' how old the world is. there are very few 'facts' in science. that's the beauty of it. remember when pluto was a planet?

Theres lots of facts in science, thats what its based on. I agree they haven't proven exactly down to the dot how old it is. But they've given a good estimate thats believable. It definitely wasn't made in 6 days.

    thats the beauty of debates

that is what you and some scientects believe, i along with others believe that the world WAS created in 6 days...

the bible dates back to between 6-7000 years ago.. NO other books or documents have gone back to then or befor then..

scientists have a "guess" (thats there facts) that the world is millions or whatever years old,.. there is one document that accually can date back to a _____ date B.C.

another question,.. why do the sceintests use B.C.? it does mean "before christ"

They didn't guess that the world is millions of years old, they used a little ole thing called carbon dating. While it may be true that other books or documents haven't gone that far back. All you need to do is look in your gas tank for proof of life before 6-7000 years ago. Do you honestly believe that dinosaurs existed 6-7000 years ago? Instead of millions of years?

Heres another little tidbit. The movement of the continents, IIRC the continents move about an inch away from each other about every 100 years. And the world definitely used to be close to one big continent. Now I don't know how good you are at math, but it would certainly take way more than 6-7000 years for the continents to spread apart and be thousands of MILES from one another.

I believe its perfectly fine for you to believe what you want to believe, as long as you dont force other people to believe it. But to ignore scientific fact, that for the most part is PROVEN through research/testing/documentation compared to the bible (which is a) unproven and b) has seen so many different authors and versions its hard to keep track), then thats just ignorant.

i agree with you. i am a Christian and have no issue with the earth being x millions of years old. i was just warning you to be careful when you say something is a fact. science isn't based on fact. laws are where science gathers most of its 'certainty' but any scientist would be hesitant to say anything is a fact.

I could not and would not date anyone that didn't believe in God. I'm extremely set on that. Me and Killer have different views but overall the same beliefs. My spiritual life is extremely important to me (in case ya'll haven't figured that out already).

Well my dad is catholic and my mom is baptist.....they chose not to raise me to go to church but i grew up talking about both beliefs and teachings. plus both of my parents came to a common ground as well with this guy that they listen to speak. so it can work you just have to come to some kind of overstanding that you love this person for who and how they are. dont let a choice of faith be in the way of luuuuv.

its never good to give advice in that manner. dont tell someone what they shouldnt do if there is a possibility it mite work.

you wouldnt know that cause your not in the relationship. if you already love this person and you have to question about the relationship about faith then you may be able to work it out.

but you dont question it and you dont like the idea then you mite have to dish it.

Theres alot of do's and don'ts in religion. Depending on the 2 religions involved in the relationship there will more than liekly be disagreements. I personally say it dependes on how much you 2 practice ur religions is what will determine whether or not the relationship can work or not. There are ppl whos religion (if they knew it prolly says dont date/marry ne body not of the same religion) yet they still date all kinda ppl and not know it. Therefore religion is often just a title passed on through the family so that shouldnt cause a problem. I say if ur arent really practicing (doing what ur religion says or living how it says u should) it, dont try to enforce a little bit of this and a little of that and cause issues in a relationship bc at the end ur still a phone-e with a screwed up relationship bc u wanted to make the rules.

My last relationship my g/f and I were of the same religion, both Christians, but she wasn't any certain denomination and I am Catholic. That is fine and that works perfect. She was willing to go to church with me and had the same prinicple views both of us being Christians.

I cannot say that about certain denominations of Christianity. I went to a Baptist high school. Holy shit. I was told I wasn't a Christian all the time and all that for being Catholic, alot of crap from teachers especially.

I would not date anyone who is of a different faith completely. Nothing against them or anything, but there would be too many differences and confusion for the kids and for each other. I don't want to have my wife going to a different place of worship and/or not even believe the same as me. It would lead to fights over many things in life.

That is just the surface, going deeper into just Christians, I would most likely not date a Protestant unless they were willing to go to mass and go along with the Catholic beliefs and way of life. There isn't too much difference, but I see going to mass as important, and recieving communion. Protestants don't have mass, and don't do communion on a regular basis, plus there are so many different beleifs within Christian denominatinos. I don't want to have myself going to one church and my wife going to another. That is just rediculous to me.

Essentially, I stick to my own faith and denomination, unless they are just a general non-specific Christian. Not like those non-denominational chruch goes, for that tends to lean towards Protestantism, but just general Christian person who has the basis of the faith beliefs in there life. IE, believes in God, Jesus dying on the cross, etc.

There would be way too many complications and fights resulting from interfaith relatinoships that I would not feel comfortable with. I am not some Bible beating Christian. Everyone can believe what they want, do their own thing, and that is good and fine with me. But I'm not going to convert or change my ways. I am stuck solid in them, and I think that is a good thing. But for those who are not, that is fine as well, then maybe they will lean one way when in a relationship and no problems will arise.
