I never wear cologne. I hate the smell, and I hate smelling other people who wear it.
You guys know that the scent agents in cologne come from pee and poo, right? Its a whole food chain that goes like this:
1.) elephants eat grass on the African Savannah
2.) elephants suck at digestion, so their poo has a lot of partially digested grass in it.
3.) dung beetles make balls of poo/grass and carry them to their underground nests where they eat them. The scent coumpound in the grass and the poo are absorbed by the dung beetles.
4.) the dung beetles are eaten by a creature called the "civet cat". This calike creature also absorbs the odor compounds and produces a pheromone of its own from glands located inside its anus.
5.) The civet cats pheromone is called "civetone" and is used in the making of colognes and perfumes.
6.) Chemists blend civetone with other compounds such as muscone, rose water, etc.
7.) You buy some cologne, thinking you will smell as fresh as the African savannah.

ive never been big on cologne. ive used the febreeze in the closet and oldspice combo since i was young. im a simple guy. as long as it keeps the smoke smell from my house out its all good. ive never had a complaint.
