You need to go to tools > internet options > privacy tab

What level is it set at? If it is set High or Very high, it will not allow cookies, which is what keeps your login information. Don't worry, deleting the cookies did not cause the problem, deleting cookies from time to time is just fine. If you set the privacy level to medium it should be good.
