The dog from the original Little Rascals was an American Pit Bull Terrier.

The scary thing is that due to unethical breeding, it's hard to find a dog that hasn't got a bad blood line sometimes. The owners are definetly what makes the biggest difference.

That is SO true, Jamie. And great post, Theresa. +1 for you!

I know labs, shephards and most of the popular breeds are so ruined by horrible breeders that it's hard to find a pup without problems without doing some heavy research and often travelling out of state. I have two shiba inus, and they're getting popular because they are fiesty dogs in a small package, good for apt living. In Japan they're an extremely healthy, almost feral breed - now thanks to US backyard breeders, shibas are starting to have hip, knee and eye problems.

Gotta love worthless fucks who breed to get a quick buck, never thinking about what they're doing to the breed. If you need a purebred dog - please PLEASE consider a rescue (both of my shibas were puppy mill rescues), and if not, find a breeder that genuinely cares about the welfare of the breed - most will show the breed as well, and will be quite particular about who gets their puppies, require a spay/neuter contract, and guarentee their pups.

Okay, I'm off my soapbox - I'm an animal rights activist, can you tell? LoL!

German Shepperds had always been my first love for dogs. I've had a couple since I was like 3. We also had a Great Dane. Cool dog.

My very best one was Kristine, my German Shepp girl. She was awesome. Super intelligent, loyal, awesome with kids, would absolutely tear up somebody on command, awesome guard dog, she was just plain awesome. We had her for 12 yrs. Cancer got her. I literally carried her into the vet's office and kissed her as she was being put down. Best dog in the world. I miss her a lot. Getting misty eyed just thinking about her.

We now have rescued mutts. They are awesome too, just wusses though. Big fat wusses. Gina, my black lab mix, is about 100 lbs and Roscoe, also black lab mix, is only about 45 lbs. We also have a Schnauzer indoor sissy dog named Cody, and my daughter's cat named Selena. All rescued animals. They are great. Not one single problem with them at all. I would not ever hesitate and actively promote to people to adopt a pet rather than go thru puppy mills and backyard shaddy dealers.

All puppies look cute and healthy. What's sad is when they get to be in their silver years and they are so pityful. It's sad.

LOL!! My mom's mutt is a wussy too. 75lbs shephard/lab/chow something mix. And my two dogs (25lbs and 18lbs respectively) beat the shit out of him. He's scared of them, hahaa.
