You guys keep on laughing. I'll have many more notches on my Merkurs belt before its over with. I vote yes for old school as it started being built in 84.

And the Turbocoupe (had one when I was 16), and my dad having a few, along with a few Merkurs and SVOs, when I was a young child... I grew to love them all.

    Default xr4ti

I believe it came out in late 84-85.

The xr4ti had a detuned svo motor different ecu.

But with the right goodies they can be made a beast.

The weak link of those were the t9 tranny if I can remember.

But making one look like a rs500.

I've got an 84 svo so pretty much I've been learning all there is to know about those engines.

If you really want a wild ride take the 2.3l bottom end and put volvo dohc head on there. Lots of work but

This is a svo with that swap.

The only thing I ask is dont trash it out like you have done with your civic and your girls bmw.

clean it up and drive it. They are fun cars. Just beware when you are in reverse, dont stab the gas pedal. You will boost like a mofo.

If you want some 2.3l sites let me know. I've got a few and found some good stuff dealing with svo's.

I've had mine 10 plus years.

I hate to sound ungrateful for your post, but how have I ruined either car? I took the D15 from my car and replaced it with a REALLY reliable, perfect condition LS/VTEC and GSR trans. Replaced the stock worn out shocks and springs with Tokico 5 ways and Skunk2 springs. Replaced the old dry rotted tires, with new tires on Integra LS rims. The only thing I have done that some people don't like, is the lights... Who cares? Civic lights are dime a dozen. It was primered when I bought the car. And all I've done to my girls car is valve cover gasket, decent tires on M3 wheels to replace the old dry rotted tires on the stock bottlecaps, and tinted the lights... like SHE wanted. I guess maintenance and easily reversible personalization ruins cars. I think the fact that I've made money on every car I've ever had, proves I don't RUIN cars.
