    Default Gauging interest....

So at thanksgiving today my uncle who is a GIANT 510 enthusiast, sits down with me and strikes up a conversation. First we begin to talk about one of his 510's he wants to sell to me, but more about that later...

Then he asks me if i knew of anyone that would be interested in a BRAND SPANKING NEW IN PLASTIC 1200cc CVCC motor!!!

I told him that i would bring it up here...i think that the cylinder head and block are separate and both in plastic FROM HONDA!! He is gonna send me pics and a price he wants this weekend. I was just kinda seeing if this sparked anyones interest. I should have pics up soon

ALSO- A co worker of mine just recently acquired an 86 Subaru BRAT with 76k original miles and is looking to get rid of it. This car is near flawless...still has working A/C, 4wd, original, never used spare in the engine bay...so clean it made my jaw drop...Would any of you old schoolers be interested in this as well?

There is no such thing as a 1200 CVCC engine. It's either a 1200 OR a CVCC engine.

As far as me getting it, I'm not in a financial position to pick anything up. And not knowing whether it is a 1.2L or a 1.5L is a stopper as well. See if you can find out which it is. Good looking out. Later, QD.

It is a 1200 cc cylinder head and block from Honda, this is the only thing i can verify 100% before i call him and get as many details as possible on this tomm.

NP Mike,I hope to be able to bring the510 i will have to some OSJC meets...i am debating between the vg30'd red one or the orange stock built one...My other uncle has 5 of them including a wagon but he's a dick and won't ever sell them. Its what i learned to drive on so im fairly excited about it. They have been in the 510 club together since like 81 or something...i have ridden in a few but never owned one(even got to race around Talladega) so i hope now is the time and i know i will be getting a great platform to start my "journey" with

Ok. This is a VERY common mistake people make about the first gen Civic. Most people think that all the first gens were called CVCCs. There are two trim levels. A 1200 and a CVCC. The 1200 had a 1.2L engine. The CVCC had a 1.5L engine. Looking at the engine, the easiest way to tell is looking at the valve cover. A CVCC engine will have CVCC embossed on the top. A 1200 will just say HONDA. Baby J has a 1200. I have a CVCC. Only I have a 1.8L engine from a Honda Accord swapped in mine.

Awesome shit on the 510. Hope you get one for sure as you won't regret it. So much fun to drive these old ass cars. Later, QD.
