Default Home sweet home V.1969 Roadster

Just got her home earlier today, did some cleaning up. Not too much done today.

Tranny is going in this weekend if everything goes smoothly with the repair to the casing.

The ones in my 240z are pretty dim too. I avoid dark dark roads with it, since my sight distance is about as far as the car is long...and the braking distance is a good bit more than that.

Nice.....what shocks and springs setup do you have to lowered the front of the Roadster?

This is a rust bucket here...I'm just waiting some old type valve seals to finish up the motor.

Rocking it old school with just stock cut springs, one day I'll blow the shocks and have to get new ones though

    nice a low windshield! I'm assuming it's a 1600?

EgEvan, yes...it's an low windshield 1600. It's a '65 but sold as '66. Motor is being put back together now. The motor parts are so old and so worn I'm hoping to get 20K miles out of it once is up and running then do a ka24de swap later.

This will fix any problems you have with dim headlights. On most older foreign cars, the wires powering the headlights are too small to do the job. Add to that the voltage drop that happens when the wires go from the battery to the switch and back to the lights and corroding ground connections.

What this circuit does is use your existing headlight wiring to trigger relays that run power to the headlights directly from the battery using thicker wires, rather than powering the lights with thin wires that go from the battery to the dash and back to the lights.

You can get the relays at any parts store for about $6 each... they usually
sell them near the fog lights.

    Thanks man!
Being that this will be on the road almost everyday, good lights will help a LOT.

The headlight relay circuit is also good if you add higher output H4 headlight housings like these.

Blender: Sweet! I've seen plug-and-play kits for adding the relays for the 240z's, and I may still go with those after taking a good look at the wiring, but I haven't had the actual diagram before now either to judge how simple it would actually be to hook up. Think you can come up with anything for fixing all the other electrical weirdness on the car? Like maybe the fact that my turn signal switch feeds full power to the turn signals and the brakes, and is dying, causing both brakes and turn signals to function intermittently? Lol.

I'd have to look at it but it seems like you might have a bad flasher unit and/or a light socket shorting out.

Another thing is you might have a the wrong bulb. Sometimes if its a dual element bulb that lights up for turns and brakes someone will put the wrong bulb in, like a single element or the wrong type of dual element.
