I actually agree with you. The original owner changed it from the pop-up type to the flush type. They have a Lexan smoked lens that makes it flush, but I don't feel like putting it on and off all the time. Although, the pop-up kind were notorious for having problems with the wimpy vaccum actuator thing....I think I like the flush look better.Originally Posted by HypnoToad
Absolutely NOT a cross fire injection. Those started in 81 or 82 I think. This one has an L82 in it with an aluminum Edelbrock intake. Internally it's all stock, although I'd love to put a little more aggressive cam and diff carb (it has a Quadrajet in it now which is "OK", but there are far better options). The Turbo 350 tranny is cool and all, but since it's only a 3 spd....it tachs kinda higher than I'd like at highway speeds. I'm going to talk to a guy that is a master GM tranny rebuilder and see if there is anything he can do to give it some kind of OD. There are swaps that can be done for that, but I don't want to go that route. It's not really all that serious, just that it'd be nice to tach less than 3k-3.5k at 65-70....![]()

I really didn't have any intentions on fixing this one up and driving it, but since my car was down I figured "what the hell", right?
With the new stereo stuff, it really is much nicer to drive. I hated having to drive down the road listening to my Ipod...It's a work in progress. It has a ton more that could be done to bring it up to 100% of my liking, but for now it gets the job done. I'm mostly going to drive it around to give my car a rest every now and again. The Lex has almost 160k, so it's time to let her rest every once in a while. Although the Lex is by far faster than this....and I miss her bad....
I'm at the shop right now and Sam should be putting the finishing touches so I can have her back very soon.
I'll come by WHEN I GET AN INVITE, BIOTCH!!!......I don't know where your new place is.
