Default You know you're old school when...........

    - You have sealed beam headlight bulbs as opposed to regular bulbs.

    - You're car came from the factory with only the driver's side door mirror.

    - You're car came out before CD players were available in them.

    - You're car did NOT come out with factory third brake lights.

    - You're car came with bumpers that preceded you by about a half mile.

    - You're car is carbed.

This is just all in fun to mock the "stylings" and traits that make old school cars what they are. Lolol. Later, QD.

With those old school bumpers they can hit crap & not get damaged.

I should know, I hit an 88 Mercedes with my Civic caused $3400 in damage to my car. His bumper only got knocked off on one side and he popped it back on at the scene.

That Carb'd on is a bit iffy.

You could buy a carb'd Subaru justy in 1991.

    Is 1991 Old School QD?

half n- half, they're polyeurothane bumpers like any modern car, but they're attatched by little bars accross gas shocks that compress and rebound back
    - You're car is carbed.
yep, the engine swap was supposed ot make it FI though, only it was converted to carbed to avoid changing the fuel pump and installing an ECU

my 83 camaro was carb'd, sealed beam, i guess you could say the bumper was out there, had 2 mirrors, and 3rd brake light was offered later, and no cd player.

Are you old school if your car didn't come with seatbelts because they were a "factory option" that was not selected? Yet you still weren't afraid of getting hurt, since the car was solid metal.

How about if you have a solid metal dash? And you weren't worried about not having an airbag, as they had not yet been invented.

What if the best radio available was AM only, with a single center dash speaker? There was a time when 8 track wasn't available yet, and stereo? What was that?

Check on all of the above.

This is the way my car came from the factory:

    - metal dash/interior panels

    - car built before cassettes or even FM radio was optional

    - car not factory equipped with seatbelts

    - lowback seats (no headrest = whiplash)

    - no reverse lights

    - full sized spare tire

    - bumper jack or bottle jack instead of scissor jack

    - bias ply tires

    - 4 wheel drum brakes

    - vacuum operated (as in not electric) windshield wipers

    - foot operated dimmer switch on the floorboard

    - 3 on the tree (aka column shift 3 speed manual)

    - points ignition

    - generator instead of alternator

    - no power steering

    - no power brakes

    - no optional a/c

-If the only paint on your bumper came from that accident where the other dude barely walked away.
-Even your steering wheel had chrome.
-What the hell are 16" wheels?
-Your hood shakes more than you do after 100mph.
-There was no name for the truck, just Truck (this goes for the Toyota guys). Also, they didn't use stickers to mark where you bought it, it was stamped onto your back bumper.
-You only really need two tools and some WD40, it'll purr in an hour.

When you go to the auto parts store for a part and they say "we got that in stock" but you insist there must be some mistake.
