Default RIP - Momofuku Ando - Inventor of Instant Noodles

    http://www.japantoday.com/jp/news/395279

OSAKA — Momofuku Ando, the founder-chairman of Nissin Food Products Co, died of a heart failure on Friday evening at a hospital in Ikeda, Osaka Prefecture, his family said. He was 96. Ando was widely known as the inventor of instant noodles. In 1948, he founded the precursor of Nissin, before introducing "Chicken Ramen," the world's first instant noodle product, in 1958.

Tis a sad day for Asians and starving college students everywhere.

That'll feed you everyday for a month for under $5.00? Maybe if you ate one meal per day.

I doubt all that sodium killed him. He lived up to 96 something years old . Anyone past 70 years old has a weak body. So I doubt its the sodium. Im sad now. First Mr. Rogers now the ramen king. OH the tears keeps pouring.

When it comes to budget dining, the individual packets are overpriced. Get the econo-sized box and you'll have food for a month without going over $10. The ones that come in the bowls with all the vegetables are good and a nice change of pace, but they're about $1.50 a bowl too.

    $1.50 - 20 Pack of Chicken
    $1.50 - 20 Pack of Beef
    $1.50 - 20 Pack of Shrimp

Yea, I do the same thing with the eggs and chives. Really brings out the chicken flavor. I usually simmer some sliced beef and add them to my spicy kimchee ramen.

I love me some noodles. I have been eating them since I was like 5. My favorite flavor is shrimp and pork. Man that be the shit!!!! I live to sometimes add a little of Lawry's season salt and some garlic salt to the boiling water then drain them and put the flavor on with a little of water. That shit be fiya!!! It's like my own homemade soup.

Yeah I've been eating them since birth too. I think my favorite Ramen memory is when I was five and an Uber-long one got stuck in my throat, like I had totally swalowed the first part and the rest was still off down in the bowl, and my mom just sat on teh other end of the table and watched me pull it out inch by inch. I think she was too grossed out to help me. lol. (^ _^)

He lived to be 96 because all the sodium from the noodles pickled his body from the inside out.

this is a sad day, i love ramen noodles, i like putting rooster/cock sauce, lime, cilantro, and a dash of fish sauce to mine, that shit is off the chain, but i am eager to find some different ways to spice up one of the best foods that has ever been dawned upon college students, any other ways to spice up ramen?
