Not for a date. The aquarium is better because you don't have that animal smell around you all the time. Also, the aquarium tends to be more relaxing.

Zoo smells like crap and makes you hurl though im sure its typical of zooz to do that.

    agreed....

I worked there for about 6 months and now I am a volunteer. I totally think it's absolutely amazing. Your first time tops all... I recommend going during the week when it's not that busy. There is a TON to see, touch, and learn about.

ha... I have literally hundreds of pics... my favs are the ones above Ocean Voyager. It's 6.2 million gallons and about the size of a football field from above.

I've been there twice. They have ballrooms/conference centers that are separate from the main aquarium with their own private views of the main tank. The shit is gangsta and it was cool to be able to watch the fish without a dozen soccer moms crashing into your knees with their strollers full of brats.

Cool Pics! Me and kyle went there yesterday ( thanks babe) and it was pretty amazing. Very crowded, but cool. I have the say the Balouga (sp?) whale was probably my favorite.

    beluga's ftw... lol..

and.. nothing about that aquarium is relaxing... too many people.. to be the only people there that would be cool...

Brittoknee- do they ever give behind the scenes tours??? that would be bad!!!
oh, and what are those yellow/shark/catfish lookin things that are in with the whale sharks... the smaller ones.. they have the same markings as the whale shark, but a tadpole like shapped body, and the head kinda of a catfish..??? u know what i'm talkin about.

i might as well work there, i knew more about the animals than the people who talked about them.. lol!

ive been to the one in gatlinburg, chattanooga, the s.c aquarium in charleston, and the GA aquarium....gotta say GA was the best w/ chatt in a close second, i liked chatt better b/c it wasnt so busy, i have a 3 yr old and for 18 fucking dollars for a 3 year old i almost had to beat ass at every exhibit to get him in there....atleast at Chatt its a calmed atmosphere, we spent probably twice the time at Chatt -vs- Ga, both are still good though

Ripley's wasn't crowded when I went. Haven't been to Chattanooga's since I was like 10 and all I remember about it was that the sharks were little. Boring

I actually just went yesterday. It was pretty cool. I got an annual pass. (yay discounts on outrageous food and 10% off friend's admission [all of $2.40]) But it was really nice. I plan on eventually taking my bestfriend and my boyfriend.
