And GM wonders why they are having problems..... Sure some people will buy it, but atleast 95% wouldn't. They need to make a car or cars that fits the needs of the majority. Healthcare for the auto workers is not the problem.
Examples:
Hummer :
It's a status symbol, it screams "Hey I can spend $50K, and $150 a week in gas). This applies to a small percentage of people.
Pontiac Aztek:
Not exactly sure who this appeals to, but you do see one every once in a while on the road. I try to stay clear from them because the owner obviously has problems with their vision.
Chevy Aveo:
Cheap at $10K, and scary as hell to ride in. Will have one of the fastest depreciations of any car. Again doesn't appeal to hardly anyone.
Corvette:
Nice ass car, but again only the few that can afford the Hummer can afford this one.
Then if you look at all their mid size family cars that cost $22K-$30K, they don't compare to other makes in the same price range. Not to mention the styling is not attractive.
