over SIXTY fk'n people waiting outside already... line stretches from the front door to the PetSmart's front door and its only 8:30pm... wow. Don't get me wrong, I worked opening last Black Friday @ that BestBuy and I know the huge crowd we get... but the crowd didn't start 'til the AM last year and slowly built up.

People are more hardcore this year, I suppose.

well, I'll be damn'd. didn't think so many people would be after widescreen T.V.'s. kind of glad, not sure of why I was considering a Projection screen for a minute.

I was riding my bike (warm day, wanted to get out) Thursday afternoon at 4:30pm and rolled up to Best Buy to see if anyone was in line yet. to my surprise, there was a freakin family of 3 sitting by the door with their tailgate chairs and laptops. I decided to go home and get my stuff together to camp (I was going to camp out for the $999 42" Plasma HDTV).

When I finally got back to best buy at 5:45pm there were 20 people in line (making me #21). 2 more people showed up about 5 min later and folks started to slowly trickle in. Pretty much everyone wanted those $300 laptops. Of the first 30 people or so in line, everyone said 'laptop' only only ~2 folks said they wanted the TV.

It was a pretty warm night, no wind, the lights in the parking lot were on and the first 30 people or so had benches under the awning to sit on... so we were all in a good mood even though we had like another 10 hours to wait (whereas the ~30 people behind us had 10 hours to wait and might not get their stuff).

Anyways, there were probably about 60 people by 8:15PM. I got lucky and got a phone call from a friend who said they had guaranteed the item I wanted at the price I wanted at a different store... eliminating the need for me to camp out all night.

I considered staying anyway to get in on other items, but decided that sleep is better than greed. I went home and got about 4 hours of sleep before I woke up at 3:30AM to pick my item up.
