Well, it's not socially acceptable, regardless if it should or should not be. It isn't in my vocabulary, and has never been. Even when I went to a high school that was 98.5% black. I think it's crap that so much weight is put into an old mispronunciation of the color negro (black)... It just doesn't mean anything to me...
