It's a really good recreations of an older car. Here are the current failures and successes in my opinon.

    Failures:
    Dodge Charger
    Toyota FJ Cruiser

    Successes:
    Ford GT
    Dodge Challenger

and of course this car would have never been built if not for what ford did with the stang GT and how much money they made with that. and the stang would have'nt been made if the old school look would'nt have been brought out with the PT cruiser and prowler, even though they did'nt sell any where as many as the mustand

I kind of like how ford made the stang a little retro. The baseline of the car is a piece of shit though. The same plastic material is used on every piece of the interior. The rear arm rests are not even clothe they are hard plastic. It's used on the door sills the material, the pillars, the door panels, the dash board.

i never said success but if u remember the pt cruiser did get alot of attention when it first came out, so in a sence the pt was a success the first year cause it did what it was intended to, get attention. later years of course sales falled off. but anyways because of the attention the pt got when it was first made it paved the way for others to make "retro" looking cars like the prowler and stang and the car that is at the the top of this thread.

Everybody is forgetting about the new Camaro. I like it best of all the "retro" cars coming out. The PT Cruiser did pave the way though. The Prowler was the shit but it was all about looks, it wasnt really aggressive enough for the price tag they had on it, it wasnt that expensive, mid 40s I think but thats too much for a car with a top motor option being an inline 6 IMO.

yeah the PT made alot of money and got alot of attention cause it was an affordable car/truck/suv/thingy mo bob that had retro styling. that is the automobile that made more companys go retro...while the prowler was the first to it, crysler did'mt make much money off of it cause it was just a retarded as car....40 something grand sports car that made a lil over 200hp.

the civic and NSX thing i was speaking of is like...the NSX is hondas best car every made. but its not what made them famous...the civic carried honda to were they are today, not the nsx. just like IMO the PT carried the retro styling to wear it is today, not the prowler

right you are, the GTO is far from retro, Im not sure what Pontiac was thinkin, they had a chance to make something great again and they didnt, from the photos of the next GTO though, they are making it alot more aggressive.

In my opinion (since other guy did it lol)

    Retro-success
    Mustang
Challenger (should as long as they dont totally fuck it up like they did the charger post concept)
    GT(40)

    Failures
Charger (a 4 door "muscle" car is fine... but dont call it a fucking charger, a charger is 2 door...)
    GTO
and I honestly dont see the new Camaro having much success seeing as how it's butt ugly... the taillights look AWFUL heh.

Everytime I see people driving a prowler , I laugh because they think they are driving a super car or something, like flexing and shit, trying to break the steering wheel of or something, biggest piece of shit ever made.

it depends on how u look at it...for the older guys that grew up in the 60's and 70's this version of the charger has failed them, as being a sports car like the OG one is. now for dodge on the other hand the charger has done alot. the same thing the 300c has done but when the 300 got a lil played out they dropped the charger so people could be a little differnt wit day tawnkie twoo's. sucess to dodge, failure to muscle car guys.

So is the PT Cruiser also a success? Maybe it sold, but it is still a failure as a design. As is the Charger, it's a fucking sedan, no matter what the engine is it has four doors and is not a muscle car in my opinon.

it all depends on ur view piont. the PT was a great sucess because like i said it got attention and sold...then the shit fell off. the charger and 300c are the same way, won many awards, got alot of attention and sold alot. the differance is...the PT was never under a sport cars name unlike the charger. it does'nt change the fact that the charger is a sucess for dodge but its a failure for alot of people cause its a slow 4 door.

Only reason I wouldnt buy a Challenger is because I still have a complete lack of faith in Dodge's ability to make a transmission. If they can prove to me it works good though I definately want one, in black.

I agree on the charger being a failure. It needs to be a 2 door. The four door is garbage and doesn't live up to the legacy.

I dont think the GTO was a failure, but of course thats just my opinion. Sure there not what the older ones were, but they are still nice. I also dont see the new Camaro being a failure. Its suppose to be bad ass. I thought they discontinued the GTO tho? I havent heard of any concept photos. I also thought thats why Rhys Millen was switching to the solstice.

I wouldn't call the FJ a failure they were selling for $10K over MSRP when they first came out. Why? You got me. It's a $25K SUV as far as I'm concerned.

how is it a design failure, after the pt was introduced it began the crossover/wagon rebirth and they are very very popular cars. They said when the charger was released that it was gonna be a performance sedan and that the challenger was gonna be a muscle car coupe.. like it was.

just asking, if you dont think the GTO was a failure, why do u think they discontinued it after like 3 years?
