what are the qualifications for the award?? lol, be white and have money?? they said deserving but you would think they could give it to like an underprivaleged(sp) kid not two that look like they come from money already

The main problem with the gals at Tech is that they get attention from soooo many guys on campus (due to the 3-to-1 guy-to-girl ratio) that trying to meet/get-to-know/get-something-started with one takes a lot more effort than it does at a UGA or a KSU or a GA State (even for an 'average' girl in terms of attractiveness).

Its not impossible, but it can feel like its not worth it at times. I can think of a few gals whom I tried to chat up that were dis-interested... who then later (tried to) act like I was one of their myriad of 'guy-friends' (as in guys who they would never date, but are their friends). Not sure why some gals do this, it seems to be an ego thing? I usually gave such gals a wide berth and went back to skating or playing video games.

Actually, I am thinking of one Colombian gal in particular. Could barely keep a conversation with her going and then we run into each other later on campus through two mutual friends. I was still sore about being all but ignored when we met, so I had little interest in trying to pursue anything else/give things a second shot.

Her: (Furtive glance) "Oh, I know you... we've met."
Me: (keeps mouth shut, says nothing)
Her: ( she starts to stare a little) Her:"What's your name?"
Me: "Hmmm?"
Her: (curious look in her eye) "Haven't we met before?"
Me: (stays silent, turns to leave with friend)
Her: (narrows her eyes, accusing, suspicous) "I know we've met"
Me: "Umm, ok" (leaves).

Its sad, but true. Not much of a story, either.
