Don't get me wrong, I love the 2JZ as much as anybody, but there is no way Toyota is going to bring back the Supra with a heavy ass iron block in the nose. Especially with all of the technology these days.

Which brings me to another point to ponder: Has anyone else noticed that manufacturers that were known for big turbo cars (Mazda, Nissan) have gone to N/A, and two of the masters of N/A (Honda, BMW) are now producing turbo cars? The times they are a changin, my friends.

wait the renesis makes about as much as the fd tt made stock... thats a big step for a rotary..

Import with v-8 = poo...I say just make improvements on the 2jz or design a new inline 6 twin turbo...Or maybe just make it straonger and try to get a tri-turbo or some crazy shit to revolutionize import engines. If they had 3 turbos that would definately make them a bigger player in the car game against the Z, and rx8, and maybe the gtr. Not to mention a v-8 is going to suck with gas mileage. Just a quick thought but im tired so dont take it too seriously.

And they have a recall on the LONG BLOCK in the RX8. My buddy is a tech at Mazda and he has actually had an RX8 completely stock, never beaten on, with 24k miles......on its 4th long block. That engine is garbage.

its no worse than the previous 13b's and their issues.. .. and besides its a rotary whats a rotary wihtout problems. But back to the point, the renesis makes almost as much power as the 13bt did, and the 13b is no bulletproof sonder itself.

No, but it is more reliable than the Renesis engine. We can debate this all day, but the fact remains that the original 13b is a stronger engine than the Renesis engine. No, it's not bullet proof, but it is a hell of a lot more bullet proof than the Renesis.
