The book of sin itself, the Bible, states that's homosexuals will be cast into hell. The reason for the lack of homosexual marriage is because marriage is defined as the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, ect. Not possible in a man-man or woman-woman pairing. You can however, have a social partnership. You just don't get the taxbreaks. Also, despite the fact that they're fighting to have it accepted as a choice, it is still pretty standard that homosexuality is socially immoral. There's also no basis for reproduction.
Like I've said before, if that's your thing then do what you do. I really don't care.
