Just got a promotion!!!

I know you all are probably like who cares, but I thought that I would tell everyone. My District Manager just called me and said that I have been promoted to store manager. YEAH!!!!!!!

Now the bad part is........my store is the Autozone on Memorial Drive in Stone Mountain. This store needs help bad!!!!!!!! It is very unorganized and understaffed. I go in tomorrow for the takeover and I will let you all know when I will be hiring. Also this is all new to me so any suggestions are welcomed.

A lil background: Got the job at Autozone in Dec. 2004, was promoted to Sales Manager in Sept 2005, now promoted again to Store manager in less than 2 years.

good job man, so what is it about the store that needs help?

you should make sure your staff is reliable, efficient, organized, etc...

and im not sure exactly what is required of your position, but dont burn yourself out trying to do everything yourself, thats what all the other employees are for

Is this suppose to be a funny or something?? I ask because people (rude customers) say stuff like this all the time when they don't get their way. Regular part time employees don't even get $7/hr they start at a minimum of $8/hr, more if they are experienced. Even those that get hired for lower than that rate did it to themselves. HAHA I am at the Covington Highway store right now and on the applications we get the people would put down "pay desired" minimum wage ($5.15/hr) WTF???? To be honest though, my old store manager use to hire them and pay them $6-7.50 and work the shit out of them. I know thats messed up, but you get what you take???

At Autozone store managers are Salary + Bonus. The store just needs some organization, and its understaffed. Trust that I will not get burned out over it. I will ration out the work. haha Oh yeah, I am a female

Congrats... Now is when the real works begins.. Atleast for the 1st couple of month. But once you get everything how you want it, you should be good to go.

I live right by there and go there sometimes.....I'll tell you now....there are times it gets ghetto around there....it shouldn't be bad though...they probably just have some slackers working there at the moment. Congratulations on the Promotion.

You have to make sure everyone is on the same page as you. Lay down the policy/protocol/rules, but also give them incentives.

Make sure all of your bases are covered.
