To the BMW guys: This does not mean I don't like BMWs, I just don't understand why you think they are the best cars in the world; that is a purely subjective matter. Some people would say a Tundra is the best, or a Ferrari, it's just a matter of interests. In the end it doesn't matter what any person says about a car, the only thing that means anything is what you yourself like. Stop trying to convert everyone to BMW, it wont work, and why would you want it to? One of the reasons I love my car is because of the rarity, would you really love your car as much if everyone on the road drove the same damn thing? Doubt it.
    Fer shizzle.
BMW guys prefer BMWs, Porsche guys prefer Porsches. It doesn't mean shit.
Being better is a combination of opinion vs what we look for in a car.
And all we do is point out the positives, and ignore the negatives to justify why we drive the cars we drive........isn't that how it goes?

But why should we have to justify why we drive the cars we drive?

Haha, justifying it to yourself is fine, but why should anyone give a damn what someone else thinks?

IDK. Hell, I owned 2 E28's (80's 5 series BMW's), and let me tell you, NOBODY shows you any love for them except for that hard-core BMW enthusiets. I'd get asked all the time 'why do you drive such an old boxy bmw???'

What do you drive? And meh, the E28's are alright. I don't think I'd buy another unless I could pony up $4k+for a mint perfect one. If maintenence has been neglected, omfg they'll break you, lol. They aren't like a 3 series, where the maintenence is at least minimal. Figure every 80k, front end needs to be completely rebuilt, same with front and rear suspension, every 60k whole cooling system needs a rebuild, crazy thigns can come out of left field if the car wasn't maintained or hacked together previous. My 533i for example. Previous owner chopped the cats out, and didn't even put the O2 sensor back!!! I mean, it ran fine without it, I even got 33 mpg with that brick on the highway, but ya know..... Stereo has to be 100% rewired to put anything aftermarket it, cause the old stock stuff used a common ground setup, god damn, I could go on and on, lol.

Buy a BMW - stick to E30's, E34's, and if you wanna just daily maybe a E36 if you can afford it, or a track car, an M. I can't afford to maintain any other BMW, those are the most relaiable for a regular odl working person. OTOH, an M5 of any body style would pwn, again, if I could afford the maintenence. The M5 was made for those who could afford them, and those who could afford them ONLY. The S38 inline 6 is a $15k+ rebuild top to bottom, with just stock parts.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Although, other than a ton of E36's, and a efw E46's, I've enver actuall;y driven a Bangle turd heap. Yes, Mr. Bangle was quite involved with the design of the E36, he just wasn't head of design yet. I think thats party why that car falls apart pre-maturely around the drivetrain.

Your completely right. And I've noticed, even with myself, it's crazy, BMW people and Audi/VW people have more hate for each other's marque than BMW peeps have for japanese cars, lol.

    Well DUH!

It's like Toyota or Mitsu vs Honda (Audi or VW vs BMW).

I don't hate; I like all the specialty German cars (and even a few Japanese cars, Nissan mostly).
