If you dont think Infiniti is LUXURY, then youre retarded.

Any of the G35s, sedans or coupe, along with the M, can stand beside the BMWs, and mercedes in the respective classes IMO.

    you cant compare a G35 to a M3 or M5 IMO. why:
    1) M3 is a race cars heritage that BMW carries on. it has a much higher price tag compared to any Inifiniti sports car, sedan.
    2) I dont think Infiniti ever tried to compete with BMW or Mercedes, they offered a product that had alot of the same creature comforts, with less price tag. sure they sacrificed the power, but so what. G35s still have some bite to their bark.

Bottom line is they are a luxury brand. I would consider them along with LExus, BMW, Mercedes. They may not have the brand allegiance that the others have , but i dont think they have been given the chance yet. Nissan an infiniti were about to go under 5 years ago. Look where they have gone in the last couple years.

If a guy WANTS the status symbol of a BMW, Mercedes, hes gonna buy those cars. But for the average to upper middle class person, looking to purchase a nice car with a good price that holds its value, along with sporty looks, the Infinity wins hands down IMO. BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, LExus, Porchse, Landrover have always been for the "upper crowd" that want the status symbol, want to pay the money, and want to say they own one. i dont think infiniti markets itself that way. i think they say "hey, if you want BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, LExus, Porchse, Landrover, go buy one, they are great cars. But if you want a car for a decent price , with the same options an features, come give us a chance". an i think it works great.

NIssan/Infiniti must be doming something right, as last i checked they were selling the most cars an had the highest profit of any car manufacturer. Plus, CArlos Ghosn is being bred to take over the big american 3.

IMO, fuck a BMW, id take a G35 anyday over an M3 simply for the fact that the breakdown to price ratio is better with the infiniti haha.

Whatever you say man. Fact of the matter is, is no matter the price tag, an equal BMW will out-do an equal Infiniti. Doens't matter the 'cost difference'. If you've got the money, I'm sure you'd buy one over an Infiniti, irriguardless of the 'value' in an Infiniti. I'd feel safer in a roll over in a BMW. I'd feel safer weaving thru traffic in a BMW. And I'd feel safer on the track in a BMW. The BMW will outlast the Infiniti in daily hard driving or racing. There are plenty of track-only BMW's, club racers, DE cars, etc., that have seen NOTHING but the racetrack for years, with 75-100k miles or more on them of track ONLY use, original motors, tranny's, etc. Like I said to the other guy man. Get a grip. There's a reason you pay a premium price for a premium car, and it isn't always for a brand name. You might not see the reasons in day to day driving. You might not even see the reasons when it's time to do maintenence. Yeah, some BMW's are un-godly expensive to maintain. When those BMW's hit 200k miles, 250k, or even 300k plus, what do you think the % of those cars are that are in great driving condition,e verythign still works, interior isn't falling apart, etc., is, compared to the japanese counterparts? I RARELY see a japanese car with that many miles on it that isn't falling apart. The drivetrains may be stout, but the rest of the car SURE isn't.

    Ok remember the requirements though.

Must have over 75k track miles on stock motor and stock tranny.

So they must have spent over 75000 miles on a track...

And dont even think about keying my car yousef.

I'll take it to the track. I've got no problem beating your SE-R OR a prelude in the twisties. The SE-R is what, 180 hp? and that 6 speed is not a close ratio box, my best friends father has one, my E30 will keep up if not pull away slightly in a straight. My 88 535i with chip, ssk, and exhaust walked numerous SE-R's liek a dog man. And in the twisties - it's over. And the prelude - agian, not even worth my time. It's an automatic for christs sake. It won't last an hour on the track I bet without overheating the tranny fluid.

Guys, I"ll be at the DE at road atlanta in March. So Will DinanM3ATL. Pay your $415 to get in and run the weekend, I'll be in D class along with the rest of you. We'll comapre lap times, and you can watch my taillights thru the S's. If you'd liek to place any bets before the session, we'll deal with that that day at the track. Put your money where your mouth is fuckers.

    So, sign em up boys

If you would take a G35 over an E46 M3 you are retarded. You know what else. My E36 M3 is EQUAL IN STRAIGHT LINE PERFORMANCE WITH A G35! AND IT IS ALMOST 10 YEARS OLD! What say you to that? I have a smaller motor, less power and a little less weight! I will own it even farther at the track. I hate to tell you but guess what dude, they are almost equal on price, and the G35 is newest, the E46 M3 has been around since 01, you gonna run this same bullshit when the new v8 M3 comes out and stomps that G35?

BMW are for owners who demand more than "I have a luxury car". THey want to carve corners, they want acceleration and want to know where the heritage of the car is! That is BMWs heritage, people recognize the roundel worldwide, its sad that here in the states because you are loyal to BMW you are a snobbish asshole.

    Thats the most ironic statement.

There is a difference between being loyal to a brand and talking shit about every other brand. Thats what you do, you aren't loyal, you're an elitist prick.

No, you said if you were stupid you'd buy a Japanese car...

That makes me think you think anyone who buys a Japanese car is stupid.

I don't see how you don't see that.

    An 89 m3 is hot.

If it was like a 85 325i, I'd just laugh.

That is BMWs heritage, people recognize the roundel worldwide, its sad that here in the states because you are loyal to BMW you are a snobbish asshole.
again, lets compare apples to apples:
    BMW E46 M3
    MSRP $48,900
    Destination & Handling $695

    Infiniti G35 Coupe
    MSRP $33,050

    POWER:
    M3
-3,246 cc 3.2 liters in-line 6 front engine with 87 mm bore, 91 mm stroke, 11.5 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder
    -Premium unleaded fuel 91
-Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 23 and EPA city (mpg): 16
    -Multi-point injection fuel system
-16.6 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank
    -Power: 248 kW , 333 HP SAE @ 7,900 rpm; 262 ft lb , 355 Nm @ 4,900 rpm

    G35
-3,498 cc 3.5 liters V 6 front engine with 95.5 mm bore, 81.4 mm stroke, 10.3 compression ratio, double overhead cam, variable valve timing/camshaft and four valves per cylinder VQ35DE-Premium unleaded fuel 91
-Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 25 and EPA city (mpg): 18
    -Multi-point injection fuel system
-20.1 gallon main premium unleaded fuel tank
    -Power: 209 kW , 280 HP SAE @ 6,200 rpm; 270 ft lb , 366 Nm @ 4,800 rpm

So for $15,850 more you get 53BHP and -8TQ

Now, im not arguing that the M3 ISNT a better car, but your comparing a $50,000 car to a $35,000 car. What are we gonna do next, compare your M3 to a NSX? Porsche? A civic to an S2000? we all know the heritage an performance an "M" car has, but what does it have to do with this thread?
My GFs $20,000 INTEGRA TYPE-R walks all over E36 M3s at road atlanta, you wanna argue a $20,000 vs a $30,000 car? i mean, every car has its postivies an negatvies.

come on man, this argument is retarded. All it was was someone posting about the new infiniti car, and you had to make some negative ass comment about how "BMWs come in enclosed trailors an are more luxry cars" blahblahblah.

    who the FUCK CARES.

Infiniti IMO is GEARED towards a different crowd. For $35000 the G35 is a great deal, look at its interior, handling, power, style, etc. it looks just as good as an M3 IMO for less money.

Again. Nobody cares. And how many G35's really go for that little amount of money? Thats like saying your gonna walk up to the dlear and buy a base model 325i for $31k, where it starts at. Ain't gonna happen, you'll pay at least $35k for most $325i's. Like I said, I persanally have spoke with a doctor who bought a 330ci over a G35, because it handled better, braked TONS better, and was simply a better car. I don't think I EVER compared it to an M car. Why don't you get your head out of your ass and compare apple to apples? It will get RAPED by an M car. ANY M car. I believe it's HIGHLY unlikely that it will even beat an E30 M3, which is what, 190 bhp stock 4 cylinder?
